Democracy Builders is excited to host a conversation with former New York City Schools Chancellor, Joel Klein. Mr. Klein will be discussing his provocative memoir, Lessons of Hope: How to Fix Our Schools, where he offers a behind-the-scenes story of the city's dramatic campaign to improve public education. 

The book provides an account of his eight-year mission for improving the school system in New York City through demanding accountability and eliminating political favoritism. Klein’s initiatives resulted in more school choice, higher graduation rates, and improved test scores and the New York City model is now seen as a national standard for meaningful school reform.

The event will be held at Democracy Prep Endurance, 250 West 127th Street (between 7th Avenue and 8th Avenue). Doors will open at 5:30pm. We hope to see you there!
